Wii is a 7th-gen console created by Nintendo and launched in 2006. Relatively younger compared to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3, Wii has managed to eclipse both consoles in terms of worldwide sales. What made Wii so successful is that it has managed to capture the interest of current hardcore and casual gamers, non-gamers, and lapsed gamer by putting more emphasis on providing new gameplay experiences and new ways to interact with games instead of giving high-definition graphics and expensive technology.
Wii consoles sell for $149, cheaper compared to the $200 and over for other systems. What sets Wii apart from other consoles is its motion-sensing wireless controller, dubbed Wii-mote, which allows you to interact and manipulate items on the screen through gestures.
One of the best games you can play on the said console is the Harry Potter Wii from video game giant, Electronic Arts, Inc. Harry Potter Wii got positive reviews on the whole probably because the virtual world was so well-made, and the quests are just as captivating. The storyline and quests of the game draw heavily from the film and the book. To date, there are already eight Harry Potter video games from EA, and a number of them can be played on Wii.
For younger players, Harry Potter Lego games are also available. Harry Potter Lego games are made by an English software house, Traveller’s Tales. As with other games based on the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter Lego games received generally positive reviews. What makes both titles successful is that those playing in them can’t help finding themselves reliving the Harry Potter’s story, with them being full-fledged wizards as well, with a Wii remote functioning as their very own magic wand.
Wii also has a number of exclusive games which include Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, and The Legend of Zelda. There is every reason to believe that Wii will continue to be popular in the coming years because of their very immersive and interactive games. If you still don’t have one, get a Wii console now, and experience gaming like you’ve never did before.
Harry Potter Legos Game will surely keep you busy for hours solving puzzles, fighting dark wizards, and reliving the magic of Hogwarts. Learn more about these immersive and interactive games here.
